The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology launched an awareness text messages campaign to consolidate the concepts of digital awareness in Egyptian society and introduce the "awaa" platform. Net" www.wa3i.net, which aims to consolidate the principles of security and privacy through the digital space, as well as to introduce various methods of protection while using the Internet and digital applications for children.
This comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to spread the culture of safe and responsible use of the Internet.
This campaign is carried out in cooperation between the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and mobile companies, through the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) directing a series of awareness text messages to citizens on a range of topics related to the safety of family members on the Internet.
These messages cover several topics, including dialogue about the digital challenges that children may face, understanding the nature of their interaction with the digital world, establishing rules and guidelines for the safe use of the Internet, data protection and privacy on the Internet, and consciously dealing with digital risks such as bullying and electronic extortion, in addition to encouraging positive digital behaviors.
These text messages also invite families to go to the “conscious” platform. Net" www.wa3i.net to identify diverse awareness and interactive content specifically aimed at children, adolescents, young people, parents and teachers, reviewing simplified materials classified according to different age groups, and participating in competitions related to building knowledge towards a safer experience in the digital space.
These efforts come in light of the growing use of the Internet, smartphones, social media platforms and electronic games, and the accompanying digital challenges and risks that include cyberbullying, digital exploitation, exposure to inappropriate content, and the risks of sharing personal data without sufficient awareness, which makes digital awareness an essential necessity to protect children and youth and enable them to take advantage of the opportunities provided by technology safely and responsibly.

Net is one of the main tools supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in implementing the "Digital Citizenship and Protection on the Internet" initiative, which aims to promote digital awareness among various segments of society, and expand access to specialized content in the fields of digital security and protection of children and youth on the Internet, as the platform contributes to the sustainability of the impact of the initiative's activities by providing a reliable digital source that provides various awareness and interactive materials that enhance the culture of digital citizenship in society.
