The Grand Egyptian Museum and Phlog Announce “Framing Time
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, and Legacy Development and Management, have officially signed a collaboration agreement with Phlog, Egypt’s leading photography platform and creative community, to launch “Framing Time” an ambitious photography education and cultural storytelling program designed to empower emerging photographers across Egypt.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Chief Executive Officer of the GEM, Mr. Khaled Taher, Founder and Managing Director of Phlog, and Eng. Merette Elsayed, Chief Executive Officer of Legacy, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration that bridges heritage, contemporary storytelling, and visual culture.
"Framing Time" aims to create a new generation of photographers capable of documenting, interpreting, and reimagining Egypt’s cultural identity through contemporary visual narratives. The program will transform the Grand Egyptian Museum into a living educational and creative hub through a series of workshops, masterclasses, photo walks, talks, exhibitions, and immersive visual experiences.
The initiative will bring together leading Egyptian photographers, educators, curators, and emerging talents in a dynamic program that celebrates photography not only as an artistic medium, but also as a tool for cultural preservation and social dialogue.
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the GEM, stated:

The program is set to launch in June 2026 and will include:

The initiative is also expected to engage thousands of young creatives and visitors through both on ground activations and extensive digital programming.
By combining the GEM’s cultural significance with Phlog’s growing creative ecosystem, "Framing Time" positions itself as one of the region’s most ambitious photography and cultural education initiatives.
