CBE Official Calls for Shift from Financial Access to ”Financial Health” as Driver for Inclusive Growth
Sherif Lokman, Sub-Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for Financial Inclusion and Sustainability, underscored that achieving financial inclusion is a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth in Egypt and the wider Arab region. Speaking at the "From Financial Inclusion to Inclusive Growth" conference—organized by the Union of Arab Bankers under the auspices of CBE Governor Hassan Abdalla—Lokman emphasized that the next phase must prioritize the active utilization of financial services and the promotion of "Financial Health" rather than merely expanding access.
Lokman highlighted that the conference arrives at a pivotal moment as the Arab region navigates rapid economic shifts and regional geopolitical challenges. He noted that the high level of participation from Arab banking institutions reflects a collective commitment to fostering regional cooperation and supporting long-term development agendas. Representing Governor Hassan Abdalla, Lokman welcomed Arab delegates, reinforcing the deep professional and strategic ties between Egypt and its regional neighbors in building a more resilient financial ecosystem.
