NTRA Boosts Sinai’s Digital Infrastructure with 1,066 Mobile Towers and 60,000 Landlines
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has unveiled a comprehensive package of projects aimed at developing Sinai’s digital infrastructure. This initiative seeks to enhance service quality and network efficiency across North and South Sinai, aligning with the state's broader mandate to advance telecommunications and accelerate digital transformation.
According to the report, 1,066 mobile base stations have been operationalized to bolster coverage, comprising 792 stations in South Sinai and 274 in North Sinai. These efforts are pivotal in supporting connectivity across vital residential, tourist, and strategic hubs.
Furthermore, the NTRA confirmed the completion of 50,000 landline installations, with plans to deploy an additional 10,000 lines throughout the current year, significantly expanding the reach of fixed-line services and high-speed fiber-optic internet
