NTRA Expands Digital Awareness Campaign to Red Sea Border Cities, Promoting Cyber-Safety and User Rights

Egypt’s National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has concluded an extensive series of digital literacy workshops across the Red Sea Governorate, reaching cities from Ras Ghareb in the north to Shalateen in the far south. Part of the nationwide initiative "Know Your Rights, Services, and Protect Your Device and Data," the campaign aims to bridge the digital divide by empowering citizens and executive officials with essential cybersecurity skills and a deep understanding of the NTRA’s regulatory framework.

The workshops addressed critical topics, including personal data protection, device security, and the prevention of cyber threats in an increasingly connected society. Dr. Walid Al-Barqi, Governor of the Red Sea, lauded the NTRA's efforts, emphasizing that such sessions are vital for navigating the technological challenges of Egypt’s rapid digital transformation. By engaging directly with citizens in cities like Marsa Alam and Safaga, the NTRA is ensuring that the benefits—and the protections—of the digital economy reach every corner of the republic.
