Visa Unveils ‘Intelligent Commerce Connect’: A Global On-Ramp for AI-Driven Agentic Payments
Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) has officially launched Intelligent Commerce Connect, a groundbreaking solution designed to integrate businesses into the rapidly evolving AI-powered commerce landscape. As part of the Visa Intelligent Commerce portfolio, this new infrastructure serves as a network-agnostic "on-ramp," allowing AI agents to initiate payments, handle tokenization, and manage spend controls through a single integration via the Visa Acceptance Platform.
The solution addresses a critical market gap: providing a simplified, secure way for businesses to accept transactions initiated by AI agents. By supporting major protocols such as the Trusted Agent Protocol and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), Visa is ensuring that merchants—from local SMEs to global giants—can make their catalogs discoverable and purchasable within AI platforms. Currently in pilot with strategic partners including AWS, Aldar, and Highnote, Intelligent Commerce Connect is set to redefine the checkout experience by moving it directly into the AI-consumer interface.
