Valeo Egypt Celebrates 20 Years by Launching Global AI Hub; Cairo Center Now Powers 50% of Group’s Software Output
Marking its 20th anniversary in Egypt, Valeo Group has officially inaugurated its Artificial Intelligence Development Center in Cairo’s Smart Village. The ceremony, led by Egypt’s Minister of ICT Eng. Raafat Hindi and Valeo CEO Christophe Périllat, underscores Egypt’s evolution into Valeo’s largest global software hub. Currently, Valeo Egypt exports nearly 4 million engineering hours annually and is responsible for half of the group's total global software production.
The new AI center will initially house 35 specialized engineers, with a roadmap to exceed 100 AI and data science experts shortly. CEO Christophe Périllat emphasized that the Cairo facility is a "pivotal node" in Valeo's global strategy to integrate AI across all engineering activities. By leveraging a local workforce of over 3,000 engineers, Valeo is accelerating the development of the "backbone" of future mobility—focusing on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Electric Powertrains. This investment reaffirms Egypt’s status as a top-tier destination for high-value digital services and global R&D.
