Danish FinTech ”Spektr” Secures $20M Series A Led by NEA to Automate Financial Compliance with AI Agents

Spektr, the Danish financial technology startup specializing in automated compliance, has successfully raised $20 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by NEA (New Enterprise Associates), with participation from notable investors including Northzone, Seedcamp, and PreSeed Ventures. Founded in 2022, Spektr aims to revolutionize the regulatory landscape by replacing manual, labor-intensive compliance tasks—such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and corporate verification—with an AI-driven platform.

CEO and Co-founder Mikkel Skarnager highlighted that while traditional compliance tech has focused on data collection, Spektr addresses the "analytical bottleneck" by automating the research and documentation of decisions. The new capital will be utilized to scale Spektr’s AI agent platform globally, targeting financial institutions that struggle with the high costs and slow speeds of manual regulatory oversight. Luke Pappas, Partner at NEA, noted that Spektr’s approach could redefine compliance management by automating the most manual segments of financial services.
