Egypt Fast-Tracks Strategic Economic Cooperation with South Korea; Investment Minister Calls for Immediate Project Execution
Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, chaired an inter-ministerial working group meeting today to accelerate economic cooperation between Egypt and South Korea. The meeting, which included high-level representatives from ministries such as Industry, Transport, and ICT, focused on formulating concrete responses to South Korean investment requirements. Minister Saleh emphasized a shift from general frameworks to the identification of specific, high-priority projects that align with both nations’ strategic interests.
During the session, Dr. Saleh directed the preparation of an urgent technical study to pinpoint immediate investment opportunities across various sectors, including Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) projects and high-tech manufacturing. With the participation of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), the working group aims to maximize the benefits of the bilateral partnership, positioning Egypt as a key regional hub for South Korean industrial and technological expansion.
