Farid Academy Becomes First EdTech in Egypt to Receive Official ”Startup Label” for Innovation in Child Wellbeing

Farid Academy, an Egyptian startup specializing in child character building and mental wellbeing, has officially been granted the "Startup Label" under Egypt’s National Startup Charter. Issued by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), this certification distinguishes Farid as the first EdTech firm in the country to meet the rigorous criteria of the unified national startup definition, unlocking a suite of regulatory incentives and digital government services.

Founded in 2024 by entrepreneur Mahmoud Hussein, Farid Academy utilizes a unique One-to-One digital coaching model focusing on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) for youth aged 3 to 18. This milestone follows the company’s recent strategic expansion into the Saudi market with a new office in Riyadh, aimed at tailoring its psychological and educational content for Gulf communities. By 2030, the academy aims to empower 10 million Arab children and train a specialized force of 10,000 professional coaches under its innovative methodology.
