The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announces the holding of the first auction on the Auctions platform
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced the first auction on the electronic platform "Auctions" dedicated to special short numbers (triple and hex) on January 26, 2026, where the six numbers are available as an ideal opportunity for small and emerging companies to obtain a distinctive short number, while the triple numbers are allocated to large companies seeking to consolidate their identity. The Authority called on all parties wishing to participate to quickly complete the registration procedures and pay the insurance no later than January 21, 2026 to ensure preference in entering the auction, while providing easy payment methods that include instant transfer through the "Instapay" application.
It is worth mentioning that the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority had launched the auctions platform, as the first electronic platform of its kind in the Egyptian market that aims to provide distinctive short contact numbers to customer service centers by conducting auctions, after conducting specialized studies and research that showed a gap between the distinctive numbers that are easy for users to remember and the market's need for them.
The "Auctions" platform helps users to reach different companies and institutions more easily and reduce time and effort when communicating to obtain services, and contributes to improving the quality of customer service provided to users by providing easy and clear numbers to communicate with banks, telecommunications companies, health services, retail services, tourism, real estate development, and other sectors, which is reflected in the speed of response, raising the efficiency of service, and improving the level of user satisfaction.
The launch of the "Auctions" platform comes as part of the Authority's strategy to enhance Egypt's position as a regional and global center for call center services, and support its competitiveness in exporting digital services, especially in light of the great development witnessed by the ICT sector during the last ten years.
