Crypto Card Spending Surges 525% in 2025 with Visa Partnership
Global – Spending via cryptocurrency cards issued in partnership with Visa saw a remarkable 525% year-on-year increase in 2025, signaling growing consumer adoption of digital assets for everyday payments.
Market data showed total spending rose from $14.6 million in January to over $91 million by December, across six crypto cards launched by blockchain projects with Visa.
The EtherFi card led the surge, registering $55.4 million in annual spending, significantly ahead of its competitors. Other cards posted smaller transaction volumes but exhibited steady growth throughout the year.
Analysts note that this trend reflects a shift in crypto user behavior, moving from experimental use to regular daily spending, especially when integrated with established traditional payment systems.
