Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, reviewed the progress of the Maspero Triangle redevelopment project in Cairo, which includes a mix of administrative towers, alternative housing units, commercial facilities, and hotel activities. The inspection was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the head of the Maspero Triangle Development Authority.

The minister emphasized that, in line with directives from the political leadership, the Ministry of Housing has taken the lead in redeveloping unsafe and informal areas in Cairo, including the Maspero Triangle, alongside projects aimed at reviving Khedivial Cairo, as part of the state’s broader plan to restore Cairo’s historical, cultural, and civilizational role.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the latest execution status of the project and ongoing coordination efforts. El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of adhering to the approved timelines in accordance with the agreed implementation schedule, underlining the need to complete the works efficiently to achieve the project’s core objectives.

The Maspero Triangle redevelopment includes a comprehensive tower complex, featuring an underground parking garage with a total area of 19,220 square meters accommodating 353 vehicles, a commercial ground floor spanning 16,970 square meters, and an upper parking level covering 15,800 square meters with capacity for 280 vehicles. The project also comprises two residential towers for alternative housing, providing 936 housing units already allocated to eligible residents, a third residential tower rising 23 floors with 134 units, and a fourth administrative tower consisting of a basement, commercial ground floor, and 15 repeated floors.

In parallel, construction is underway on the Nile Maspero Towers, which include three residential towers, each 30 floors high, offering housing units of various sizes. These towers rest on a shared podium featuring commercial, administrative, and recreational activities, in addition to three basement levels designated for parking, public services, and a power station serving the Maspero area. Work is also progressing on the Maspero Towers project, comprising two towers—one mixed-use hotel-residential and the other administrative—built on an area of 8,419 square meters.
