Boeing Showcases Flagship Defense Platforms and Strengthens Partnership with Egypt at EDEX 2025
Boeing [NYSE: BA] announced its participation as a Silver Sponsor at the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2025), reaffirming its long-standing commitment to supporting the Egyptian Armed Forces and advancing regional defense capabilities.
“We are proud of Boeing’s long-standing partnership with Egypt, one of the region’s most important defense and security players,” said Vince Logsdon, vice president of International Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Boeing Defense, Space & Security. «EDEX remains a vital platform for engaging directly with our customers, reinforcing our collaboration with the Egyptian Armed Forces, and demonstrating how Boeing’s proven, mission-ready capabilities can support Egypt’s evolving defense priorities.»
Boeing’s defense partnership with Egypt spans more than 45 years, beginning in 1979 with the Egyptian Air Force’s acquisition of the F-4 Phantom II. Since then, the relationship has expanded through major programs focused on readiness, modernization, and long-term capability development. Egypt today operates 43 AH-64D Apache attack helicopters and 18 CH-47D Chinook heavy-lift helicopters, both essential to the country’s operational and humanitarian missions.
Strengthening that trajectory, Egypt signed an agreement in 2022 for 12 CH-47F Chinooks, bringing enhanced payload, extended range, and upgraded avionics. Boeing continues to provide comprehensive support through training, sustainment, lifecycle services, and fleet upgrades, ensuring high availability and mission readiness across all platforms.
At EDEX 2025, Boeing will spotlight a focused selection of its most trusted and mission-proven defense platforms, including:
AH-64 Apache – One of the world’s most advanced and battle-tested attack helicopters, trusted by Egypt and global operators for its precision strike capability, survivability, and multi-role flexibility in all-weather environments.
CH-47 Chinook – A versatile heavy-lift helicopter deployed across missions including troop transport, cargo movement, disaster relief, and special operations. Egypt operates the D-model and has contracted the F-model, offering increased performance and upgraded digital avionics.
KC-46A Pegasus – A next-generation multi-mission aerial refueling aircraft capable of supporting airlift and medical evacuation operations. Equipped with advanced defensive systems, secure communications, and multi-domain interoperability, it addresses both current and future mission requirements.
Insitu ScanEagle – A long-endurance unmanned aerial system designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. Its extended flight time and compact footprint make it ideal for maritime, border security, and land-based operations requiring persistent situational awareness.
Visitors to Boeing’s stand will experience a wide array of interactive and physical displays, including a 3D Cube Totem showcasing Boeing’s latest defense technologies, a full-scale ScanEagle model, and models of the CH-47F Block II ER and KC-46A Pegasus.
Boeing’s exhibit will also highlight the company’s Global Services portfolio, covering sustainment, modernization, upgrades, training, and maintenance solutions supporting government customers across the Middle East and Africa.
As one of the world’s leading aerospace companies and the largest U.S. exporter, Boeing designs, manufactures, and services commercial aircraft, defense systems, and space technologies for customers in more than 150 countries. For nearly six decades, Boeing has partnered with Egypt across both commercial and military sectors, contributing to aviation development, defense capability building, and job creation.
