VOO Partners with Blu EV to Launch Egypt’s First Eco-Friendly Electric Delivery Motorcycle Fleet
In a significant milestone for Egypt’s quick-commerce sector, VOO – the mart-in-an-app and one of the country’s leading instant delivery platforms for daily essentials – has announced a strategic partnership with Blu EV, Egypt’s foremost provider of e-mobility solutions, to launch the nation’s first eco-friendly electric delivery motorcycle fleet powered by smart battery-swapping technology.
The collaboration marks a transformative step toward reimagining sustainable delivery operations in Egypt. By integrating advanced electric mobility with high-efficiency logistics, the partnership aims to boost operational performance while minimizing the environmental footprint typically associated with traditional delivery methods.
Blu EV’s innovative battery-swapping system enables riders to replace depleted batteries with fully charged ones in under 60 seconds, ensuring continuous delivery cycles with lower operating costs, reduced carbon emissions, and dramatically less noise pollution compared to fuel-powered motorcycles.
The pilot program was launched in March 2025 in Sheikh Zayed with seven electric bikes and further expanded in June to include El Gouna, followed by six additional zones in September. Today, the electric fleet has grown to more than 140 Blu EV-powered motorcycles, collectively covering over 250,000 kilometers, saving more than 25,000 kilograms of CO₂ emissions, and contributing to quieter, cleaner residential communities.
Omar Abou Zaid, CEO of VOO, stated:
«We are proud to be among the first companies in Egypt to embrace electric delivery solutions. Through this partnership, we now officially own the largest electric delivery fleet in Egypt and are the first company to license electric motorcycles in Giza Governorate. This initiative is a major step toward a more sustainable future, fully aligned with our mission to provide a fast, convenient, and environmentally conscious delivery experience.»
Rida Baalbaki, CEO of Blu EV, commented:
«We are delighted to partner with VOO to further expand the adoption of our smart battery-swapping technology in the delivery ecosystem. This collaboration underscores the growing importance of electric mobility in supporting national sustainability objectives, reducing emissions and noise pollution, and advancing Egypt’s logistics infrastructure.»
Looking ahead, both companies aim to fully electrify VOO’s delivery fleet by 2026, positioning it to become Egypt’s first delivery service operating entirely on clean energy—a strong demonstration of their mutual commitment to innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
