Egypt ‏ Partakes in Web Summit Lisbon 2025

Egypt, represented by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Digital Economy and Technology General Division (DETGD) of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), is participating in Web Summit Lisbon 2025, taking place on November 10–13 in Lisbon, Portugal.

ITIDA and DETGD are supporting startups participating in the Egypt Pavilion at the event. This year’s edition features around 34 Egyptian startups, including exhibitors and visitors, continuing the success story that started with the launch of the first Egyptian pavilion in 2019.

Marking their sixth consecutive year at Web Summit, ITIDA and DETGD are joining forces to empower Egyptian startups, enable them to access new markets, boost their global competitiveness, and attract foreign investment into Egypt’s ICT sector.

Web Summit is the world’s premier and largest event in tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship, connecting people and ideas that are reshaping the world. It brings together 70,000 attendees from 160 countries and over 1,000 industry-leading speakers to discuss the future of advanced technologies such as AI, cloud computing, digital infrastructure, tech policies, and sustainability. The Summit also serves as a key platform for startups to present their solutions to global investors and participate in international competitions that offer promising funding and investment opportunities.

Egypt’s participation in this global event reflects the growing prominence of Egyptian companies in the international tech landscape, with the Summit providing a strategic platform to highlight national success stories across diverse sectors, including AI, FinTech, digital sustainability solutions, digital transformation, HealthTech, AgriTech, EdTech, and digital services.

This year’s Egyptian pavilion is expected to be the largest and most impactful since Egypt’s debut at the Summit, reflecting the remarkable progress of Egyptian startups and their growing ability to compete globally with cutting-edge tech-based products and services. It also embodies Egypt’s vision to foster entrepreneurship and position innovation as a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth, in line with the Digital Egypt strategy and Egypt's Vision 2030.

This participation underscores the state’s commitment to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship while expanding opportunities for international cooperation. It reinforces global confidence in the potential of Egyptian youth, who have become vital contributors to the global digital economy, supported by an enabling ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship, robust government backing, and significant advancements in digital infrastructure.
