YLY Union Partners with Coca-Cola HBC Egypt to Empower Youth through #ShababBokra Program
The Youth Leading Youth (YLY) Union, operating under Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, has announced a strategic partnership with Coca-Cola HBC Egypt through the signing of a cooperation protocol designed to support and empower Egyptian youth while preparing them for the modern labor market. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, attended by H.E. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports.
The partnership will encourage young Egyptians to join the #ShababBokra program, the local version of Coca-Cola HBC’s global #YouthEmpowered initiative. The program aims to close the gap between academic education and labor market needs by equipping young people with practical skills, specialized training courses, and accredited certificates that enhance their employability and professional readiness.
Rana Gamali, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Coca-Cola HBC Egypt, highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to youth development, stating:
> “At Coca-Cola HBC, we believe in the potential of young people. Through the #ShababBokra program, we aim to empower them with the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to achieve meaningful success and secure distinguished positions in the job market.”
Shehab Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Youth Leading Youth (YLY) Union, praised the collaboration as a vital step in expanding opportunities for Egyptian youth, noting:
> “This partnership gives young people the chance to gain real-world experience while taking on leadership and community roles within the YLY Union. It aligns with the Ministry’s vision of preparing a new generation capable of meeting labor market demands and contributing effectively to Egypt’s development.”
During his remarks, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with major private sector partners such as Coca-Cola HBC Egypt. He praised the YLY Union as a model for youth empowerment and sustainable community engagement.
The collaboration between Coca-Cola HBC Egypt and the YLY Union represents a shared vision of creating lasting social impact—connecting skills with leadership, and ushering in a new phase of youth participation in Egypt’s nation-building journey.
