Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority Adds Six Firms to “Negative List” Over Violations, Renews Warning Against Unlicensed Entities

Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has added six companies to its “negative list” for engaging in activities that violate non-banking financial laws, warning investors once again against dealing with unlicensed entities that pose risks to their savings and rights.

According to the FRA, violations committed by the flagged companies include publicly inviting individuals to subscribe for shares without obtaining the required approvals under Capital Market Law No. 95 of 1992 and its executive regulations. Other companies were found to be receiving funds for investment or employment purposes without adhering to the legal framework outlined in Law No. 146 of 1988, which governs companies involved in fund-receiving investment activities.

Renewed Caution to the Public

The FRA urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid engaging with any entity that promotes financial or investment activities without proper licensing. The authority emphasized that dealing with such firms exposes investors to significant risks, including the potential loss of funds and legal protection.

The watchdog also noted that it had published a similar negative list in May 2025, based on complaints received from the public. That list identified unlicensed entities conducting non-banking financial activities in violation of applicable laws and regulations. The FRA confirmed that this list will continue to be updated regularly in line with new developments.

Channels for Complaints and Verification

To safeguard investors, the FRA has provided dedicated communication channels:

Individuals who receive suspicious investment or funding invitations can submit complaints via: [email protected].

Companies and institutions seeking to verify compliance of their business models with legal and regulatory requirements can contact: [email protected].
