Minister of Communications Announces Nationwide Expansion of Cybersecurity Academy Programs by Next Year

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, announced today that the Cybersecurity Academy for Youth and Students will expand its training programs to cover all governorates across Egypt by next year.
The announcement came during the graduation ceremony of the academy’s second cohort, which celebrated the completion of training for 5,016 participants from 14 governorates. The programs were delivered through Creativa Innovation Hubs nationwide, in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI), the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and several global cybersecurity leaders, including Google Cloud Security, Palo Alto Networks, F5, Trellix, and MCS.
Minister Talaat highlighted the strong demand from young people to join the academy’s programs, noting that enrollment figures have exceeded all expectations.
> “This overwhelming interest reflects the determination of Egypt’s youth to embrace the future of technology. It also gives us a strong motivation to expand the academy’s programs to every governorate next year,” he said.
He added that the academy was established to raise awareness and build national capabilities in cybersecurity, a field he described as one of the key indicators of a country’s strength in the digital era.
> “Protecting data today is no less important than protecting citizens’ most valuable possessions,” Talaat noted, emphasizing the growing global race to strengthen cybersecurity defenses in the face of increasing cyberattacks.
During the ceremony, graduates shared their experiences, highlighting the technical skills they gained through the training. Several participants noted that the academy had already opened opportunities for them in freelance and professional cybersecurity work.
In an open dialogue with parents, the minister stressed the importance of continued learning and specialization in cybersecurity, describing it as one of the fastest-growing sectors in both local and global job markets.
The Cybersecurity Academy initiative is a cornerstone of Egypt’s broader digital transformation strategy, aimed at developing a skilled workforce capable of safeguarding national infrastructure and ensuring a secure and sustainable digital future.
