Global Milestone for Egypt: Vodafone Egypt and Huawei Launch World’s First 50Gbps Microwave Link Under NTRA Supervision
Vodafone Egypt has achieved a historic global breakthrough by successfully testing the world’s first commercial 50Gbps microwave link, in partnership with Huawei Egypt and under the supervision of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s (NTRA) Spectrum Management Department.
The trial was conducted on the E-Band (80 GHz) spectrum using advanced Full-Duplex technology, marking a transformative leap in mobile network innovation. The high-capacity link sets a new global benchmark for data transmission, delivering speeds of 50Gbps and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a hub for next-generation connectivity across the Middle East and Africa.
