Banque Misr Supports Breast Cancer Warriors with EGP 45 Million Donation to Baheya Foundation

Banque Misr has signed a cooperation protocol with the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Free Treatment of Breast Cancer, pledging EGP 45 million to equip a CT scan room at Baheya’s Sheikh Zayed Hospital. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve more patients and improve diagnostic accuracy.

The protocol was signed in the presence of Hesham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr; Eng. Tamer Shawky, Chairman of Baheya’s Board of Trustees; Hossam Abdelwahab, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr; and Eng. Magid Hamdy, Board Member of Baheya. The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Fatma El-Gouly, Head of Corporate Communications at Banque Misr, and Laila Salem, Board Member of Baheya, in the presence of senior representatives from both institutions.

According to Banque Misr, the support aims to provide the hospital with an advanced CT scanner—an essential tool in diagnostic imaging for accurate tumor detection, monitoring, and staging. The device is projected to facilitate around 10,000 scans annually once fully operational.

Commitment to Sustainable Development
Commenting on the partnership, Hesham Okasha stressed that the initiative reflects Banque Misr’s strategic vision as a key partner in achieving sustainable development. “Investing in health and education remains a cornerstone of true development,” he said, emphasizing the bank’s role in empowering women and supporting breast cancer fighters as part of its broader social responsibility.

He also underlined that Banque Misr aligns its initiatives with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes equitable access to quality healthcare. “Our community contributions are designed to complement the state’s efforts in building a capable, healthy citizen who enjoys a dignified life,” Okasha added.

Baheya’s Expanding Reach
Eng. Tamer Shawky extended gratitude to Banque Misr, highlighting its role as a strategic partner in supporting Egyptian women. He noted that Baheya has already provided early detection services to nearly 300,000 women through its centers in Haram and Sheikh Zayed, both equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and international treatment protocols delivered by specialized medical teams.

As one of Egypt’s leading banks in corporate social responsibility, Banque Misr continues to champion initiatives in health and education, aiming to advance social justice and improve living standards nationwide.
