Gold Prices Today in Egypt: 21-Karat at EGP 4,750

Gold prices opened Wednesday’s trading in Egypt at stable levels after Tuesday’s surge, in line with a global rally in the precious metal.

According to local market data, 21-karat gold, the most traded in Egypt, stood at EGP 4,750 per gram without workmanship costs, unchanged after rising by EGP 30 yesterday.

Meanwhile, 24-karat gold was priced at EGP 5,428 per gram, 18-karat gold at EGP 4,071 per gram, and the gold pound coin reached EGP 38,000, up around EGP 300.

Globally, gold has climbed 41.27% year-on-year, reinforcing its status as a safe-haven asset amid ongoing market volatility. Analysts expect strong momentum to continue, with projections of USD 4,000 per ounce in 2025.

In Egypt, demand remains resilient despite high prices. Market analysts link the rise in local purchases to the Central Bank of Egypt’s recent interest rate cut, which has prompted savers to shift toward gold as a store of value.
