iPhone 17, the ‘thinnest iPhone ever,’ and everything else we’re expecting out of Apple’s hardware event
Apple is set to host its annual hardware event on September 9, 2025, where the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, along with updates to the Apple Watch and AirPods Pro 3. The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models will reportedly feature larger 6.3-inch displays with 120Hz refresh rates, upgraded 24-megapixel front cameras, and new color options such as purple and green. Apple may also introduce new “TechWoven” cases, possibly with cross-body straps.
The highlight, however, is the rumored “iPhone Air”, tipped to be the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.5mm thick, making it slimmer than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. It is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display, but Apple may cut back on features to achieve the ultra-thin design, such as offering only a single rear camera and potentially dropping the bottom speaker, leaving audio to come from the top earpiece. The iPhone Air could debut at around $950 and may come in black, silver, and light gold finishes.
