Egypt to Offer Residential Plots in 20 Cities Mid-August

The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), is set to launch a new offering of residential land plots for individuals across 20 governorates, with sizes ranging from 209 to 1,000 square meters, according to a senior NUCA official.
Speaking to Al Arabiya Business, the source confirmed that the plots will be ready for immediate handover and will be allocated through a public lottery. Reservations will open on August 15, with the offering covering three categories: medium, distinguished, and most distinguished, in response to strong demand for land in new urban cities and in support of Egypt’s urban expansion plans.
The official noted that prices are expected to see a slight increase compared to the last offering in November, though the exact percentage has yet to be determined. Around 5% of the total plots will be reserved for people of determination (persons with disabilities).
In the previous lottery, NUCA offered around 8,521 plots, including 3,678 plots in the “medium distinguished” category, with an average price of about EGP 3,500 per square meter. The “most distinguished” category included 96 plots in locations such as 6th of October City (EGP 13,350/m²), El Shorouk (EGP 12,000/m²), and El Obour (EGP 8,700/m²).
Additionally, the last offering featured 4,747 plots in the “distinguished” category, distributed across nine governorates, with prices ranging between EGP 1,400 and EGP 5,700 per square meter, depending on the location and level of amenities.
Industry observers expect the upcoming offering to attract strong participation, given the ongoing demand for residential plots in Egypt’s expanding urban centers.
