Dealers Announce End of ‘Overprice’ on Locally Assembled Hyundai Accent RB, Sales Now at Official Prices
Several car dealers have confirmed the end of the “overprice” practice on certain trims of the locally assembled Hyundai Accent RB, with sales now taking place at the official manufacturer’s price for selected variants in the Egyptian market.
The term “overprice” refers to an additional amount imposed by some dealers and traders on the vehicle’s listed price in exchange for immediate delivery, bypassing waiting lists maintained by official agents—where prices could fluctuate multiple times during the waiting period.
According to distributors, the Hyundai Accent RB is now being offered with trade discounts ranging from EGP 10,000 to EGP 20,000 from authorized dealerships, bringing the final consumer price in line with official rates for some trims. This change comes as a direct result of increased supply to the market, following larger allocations from the official importer.
