Golden Dragon Tops Egypt’s Minibus Sales in H1 2025 with Nearly 50% Market Share

Chinese automaker Golden Dragon has emerged as the top-selling brand in Egypt’s minibus market during the first half of 2025, capturing a dominant 49% market share with 1,472 units sold, according to the latest report from the Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC).

The strong performance by Golden Dragon comes as part of a wider surge in Egypt’s passenger transport vehicle segment, with total minibus sales soaring by 133% year-on-year to reach 2,994 units, compared to 1,281 units during the same period in 2024.

Market Leaders in H1 2025 Minibus Sales:

1. Golden Dragon – 1,472 units (49% market share)

2. King Long – 1,097 units (37% market share)

3. Foton – 239 units (8% market share)

4. Toyota – 186 units (6% market share)

Golden Dragon’s success further solidifies the growing dominance of Chinese automotive brands in Egypt’s commercial vehicle market, driven by competitive pricing, availability of after-sales services, and increased fleet adoption in both public and private transport sectors.

Toyota, while traditionally a strong player in various vehicle segments, ranked fourth in the minibus category during the first six months of the year, with a 6% share and 186 units sold.

The data underscores a strong rebound in demand for group transport solutions in Egypt, amid ongoing economic recovery efforts, infrastructure upgrades, and increased investment in transport modernization initiatives.
