Banque du Caire Offers Free EGP and USD Accounts with No Minimum Balance to Mark International Youth Day

As part of its commitment to supporting financial inclusion initiatives under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt, Banque du Caire has launched a special campaign in celebration of International Youth Day, offering a wide range of exclusive benefits and promotional offers from August 1 to August 15.
At the heart of the campaign is the free opening of “Wafirr” financial inclusion accounts, with no minimum balance required and no account statement fees, available in both Egyptian pounds and US dollars. In addition, the bank is offering free issuance of Meeza debit cards and prepaid cards in EGP, as well as complimentary access to online banking, mobile banking, and the "Qahera Cash" digital wallet for both new and existing customers.
Flexible Banking for Freelancers and Microbusinesses
Banque du Caire is also promoting its “Wafirr Current” and “Wafirr Business” accounts, specifically designed for freelancers, micro-entrepreneurs, and individuals conducting business through social media—especially those without formal documentation of their activities. These accounts are offered with simplified procedures, no opening fees, no minimum deposit, and an attractive daily interest rate.
A new account product, “Wafirr Micro”, has also been introduced for microfinance customers, enabling them to conduct commercial transactions, receive and transfer payments, and manage business-related funds directly through the account at any time.
128,000 New Financial Inclusion Clients
By the end of Q2 2025, Banque du Caire had successfully onboarded around 128,000 new clients through its financial inclusion programs, with youth (ages 15–35) representing approximately 52% of total financial inclusion accounts.
To support the campaign, the bank is actively engaging in on-the-ground outreach across a wide range of venues including sports clubs, youth centers, and universities, offering convenient on-site account opening and banking services. Banque du Caire is also hosting financial literacy seminars across several governorates including Beni Suef, Fayoum, Minya, Sohag, Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Mansoura, and Tanta.
Additionally, the bank has partnered with Banker Lounge to organize financial literacy workshops and facilitate free account openings for youth, reinforcing its role as a key driver of inclusive banking and youth empowerment across Egypt.
