The U.S. dollar held steady against the Egyptian pound across local banks on Saturday, as official exchange rates remained virtually unchanged amid cautious market sentiment and a stable monetary environment.

According to data from the Central Bank of Egypt, the dollar is currently trading at EGP 49.36 for buying and EGP 49.49 for selling.

At National Bank of Egypt, one of the country’s largest state-owned banks, the greenback was priced at EGP 49.37 for buying and EGP 49.47 for selling. The same rates were recorded at Banque du Caire and Al Baraka Bank.

Other major institutions also reported similar stability. Bank of Alexandria listed the dollar at EGP 49.36 for buying and EGP 49.46 for selling, while CIB (Commercial International Bank) maintained rates at EGP 49.36 buying and EGP 49.47 selling.

Meanwhile, United Bank of Egypt and Suez Canal Bank echoed the same trend, with the dollar buying rate at EGP 49.36–49.37, and the selling rate peaking at EGP 49.47.

This level of consistency in dollar exchange rates across banks reflects a stable foreign exchange market, with the Central Bank’s tight monetary policies continuing to anchor currency expectations amid ongoing macroeconomic reforms.

Market analysts expect the exchange rate to remain within this range over the short term, barring any major external shocks or policy shifts.
