Egyptian Stock Market Opens Higher on Tuesday Backed by Local Buying

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session—marking the midweek point—with broad gains across all major indices, driven by strong local investor demand.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 0.52%, reaching 33,902 points. Meanwhile, the EGX70 index, which tracks small and mid-cap stocks, climbed 0.4% to 10,236 points, and the broader EGX100 index gained 0.49% to settle at 13,854 points.

The market capitalization of listed stocks increased to EGP 2.392 trillion, reflecting growing investor confidence. Egyptian investors recorded a net buying position of EGP 26.2 million, while Arab and foreign investors shifted to net sellers with EGP 18.1 million and EGP 8.1 thousand, respectively.

Total trading turnover amounted to EGP 810.8 million, with 254.9 million securities exchanged through 21,400 transactions.
