The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and the Director of the Egyptian Military Academy Ashraf Salem Zaher have met with the applicants of Digilians Initiative at the Academy’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Digilians is a fully funded scholarship jointly implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Egyptian Military Academy, in partnership with leading local and global tech companies, as well as companies specializing in soft and language skill development, and international universities.

In his remarks, the ICT Minister underlined the state’s ongoing commitment to investing in the digital upskilling of youth, empowering them to keep pace with the evolving demands of the global labor market. He noted that cultivating a qualified pool of young professionals is a cornerstone for achieving digital transformation, driving Egypt’s development efforts, and strengthening the global competitiveness of Egyptian talent.

Approximately 40,000 youth from various governorates have applied to join the initiative, with 5,000 graduates set to be selected for the first cohort. Admission tests are held from June 29 to July 20 and involve a comprehensive evaluation of applicants through a series of assessments designed to measure their technical skills in their chosen fields.

The initiative offers theoretical and practical training for youth across various tech specializations, in addition to providing specialized programs aimed at developing soft skills, language proficiency, and leadership capabilities. It also supports trainees in strengthening their freelancing and entrepreneurship competencies, thus boosting their competitiveness in local and international ICT job markets.

The program requires full-time commitment throughout the study period. Participants will receive certificates from MCIT and the Egyptian Military Academy, along with certificates for all acquired skills, a master's degree from the international partner university for master’s programs, and a comprehensive training track that includes technical and on-the-job training to prepare them for careers in cutting-edge technologies. Training also encompasses a wide range of scientific, cultural, sports, and social activities, as well as opportunities to participate in local and international tech competitions, with in-kind rewards for top achievers.

Digilians also offers a wide array of academic programs for trainees to choose from upon registration. These include the Intensive Diploma Program (4 months), the Specialized Diploma Program (9 months), the Professional Master’s Program (12 months), and the Master of Science Program (24 months).
