Cairo – A new wave of speculation is sweeping the tech world following a recent design leak that may have revealed Apple’s boldest hardware move in years. Shared by reputable leaker Sonny Dickson, a series of photos show what appears to be four dummy units representing Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. But it's the so-called iPhone 17 Air that’s stealing the spotlight — and for good reason.

If the leak proves accurate, the iPhone 17 Air could be Apple’s thinnest device to date, potentially thinner than even its own side-mounted volume and power buttons at its slimmest edge. The radical design is already being touted by enthusiasts as a futuristic leap in smartphone aesthetics.

The lineup includes standard iterations of the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max — all maintaining familiar proportions and form factors. However, the Air model stands out for its near impossibly slim build, likely positioned to replace the iPhone 16 Plus in Apple’s product hierarchy.

Industry insiders suggest that trimming the chassis to such an extent not only enhances visual appeal, but may result in a significantly lighter device — something many users have longed for in larger smartphones.

Yet, the design does raise some practical questions. The iPhone 17 Air reportedly features a full-width camera module on its back, a design choice that could shift the device’s weight distribution toward the top, making it feel slightly unbalanced in hand. Whether Apple has found a way to offset this potential flaw remains to be seen.

With Apple’s annual hardware event typically slated for September, official details are still months away. But based on early impressions, the iPhone 17 Air may well redefine what a premium smartphone looks — and feels — like.
